I'm not sure about what does cross-tab table below suggest. It looks like the less women contribute to overall substance, the more likely that multiple spouses be allowed for them, instead of males. Am I correct? (Correlation = -.337; sig. = .001)

Yes, that table is very informative, and unexpected! You are right (about the correlation with polyandry; also more monogamy at lower levels of contribution), AND the more women produce, the more multiple spouses are allowed for men only (polygyny)!!
